The Korean-American Medical Association (KAMA) is the main national medical organization which represents all Korean-American physicians in the United States.

It includes American M.D.¡¯s and D.O.¡¯s who are of Korean heritage from all generations. Meetings are held in English and scholarship, cohesiveness, and excellence are goals of KAMA¡¯s endeavors.

KAMA¡¯s sister organizations are the:

KAMA has frequent communication with both the AMA and KMA, among others. The membership and leadership of KAMA is from throughout the entire country, but we encourage more widespread and diverse representation from all corners of the U.S.

KAMA allows a forum for discussion of medical topics and ideas. This is through the annual meeting with scientific sessions of original work as well as review lectures on subspecialty topics, and through the Journal of the Korean-American Medical Association (JKAMA), published annually. Through several meetings during the year, culminating in the Annual Meeting with international attendance, KAMA is a base for fellowship and networking for Korean-American physicians. KAMA also represents a collective voice for professional, political, and community-based concerns. We offer a mentoring program and scholarship awards for pre-medical and medical students as well as for residents and fellows.

Korean-American physicians make up a relatively small number of the total physicians in the United States, but through participation in a group, individual issues and concerns may be addressed, discussed, and solutions implemented.
